April is by far the heaviest Birthday month for my family. We have eight birthdays in quick succession. Already sent out two cards and made two more today.
Here is the inspiration I used:
And here is my sister's card:
And here is Breslyn's:
I am often surprised by how a card changes from when I start it to when I finish it. Frequently it's quite different. Just an evolution I guess.
Happy Saturday Everyone.
What is Mush Push? Well, the official definition is the soft creamy sauce left when you give your bowl of ice cream a good stir. To us it means all the wonderful things we love and want to share.

Card of the Week
I'm prepping for the onslaught of April birthdays that are fast approaching. The next four will all have to be kid focused as four of the five grandkids have birthdays in April or early May.
Here was my inspiration from CAS(E) This Sketch:
And here is my version:
I was trying for a "guy" card. I think it will work. Happy carding.

Had a quiet moment and was able to make another card. You know...you can never have too many "Happy Birthday" cards at the ready.

Mom's Birthday Card
Just finished making Mom's 90th Birthday card. Wanted it to be pretty special and I sure hope it is.
I used the CAS(E) this Sketch as my inspiration:
Not sure how often Mom checks out my blog anymore. Let's just hope she doesn't check it for a bit.
Happy Sunday....with Chili in the crockpot. All good.

Card Day
I got two cards made yesterday. How fun is that.
Participating in the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge again.
Here is the inspiration:
And here are my interpretations:
I really enjoyed this sketch. I even tried to do a version with paint graduated from light to dark, but it just didn't turn out how I envisioned it, which isn't all that unusual.
Happy Snow Day.

Card of the Day
I got a card made yesterday...which is pretty amazing since I'm taking care of my two grandson's and BW is healing from the fall and clavicle surgery.
Found the card inspiration over at CAS(E) this Sketch. Here was the inspiration:
And here is my interpretation:
So happy to be carding and sharing again. It's been a while.

Latest Projects
Life has been a little too hectic lately, but I managed to squeeze in a whole day of projects last week. Here's what I made:
New Mantel Garland
I've been into keeping lights on my mantel all year long and to keep it from looking too Christmassy, I've been making garland for the season. In February, I did a red heart garland and for Spring I've done this daisy garland.
I bought the wood flowers at Joann's and painted them pale yellow. I then added adhesive aqua gems. I attached the flowers using my glue gun to green floral wire. (I used some of the small hearts left over from February's garland as the backing for the flowers making it much easier to stick to the wire.) I made two of them and gave one to Cait as a little Easter present.
Here is the finished mantel:
I think I need to update my mantel afghan to something a little less...PINK.
I also made all the grandkids their Easter cards. I think they turned out so cute:
And finally got two of the April Birthday cards made and sent:
For my SIL Karen:
And from my brother Bob:
This is my first time using an old photo. Hope he likes it.
Happy April!

Card of the Month
I've been making a few cards lately. I finished 5 birthday cards on Friday evening to celebrate all the February birthdays, but I didn't use any sketches for my inspiration. Today though, I made two cards using this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch for inspiration.
Here is the sketch:
Here are my cards:

Best news on the card front is that I purchased a new printer. It is awesome. I've been struggling for so long with the old one and this one does so much and so easily. I am back to being able to print my card sentiments on the inside before I make the rest of the card. Yeah!! It's an Epson WF-3640 if anyone is in the market for a new printer. Got it at a good price from Office Max thanks to the help of Tyler. Super knowledgeable.

Homemade Ice Cream
I received an ice cream maker for my birthday. I've been wanting one for so long and I was so excited to use is yesterday.
I made this:
Raspberry chocolate chip.
It was very fun and easy. Can't wait to make more. Already have flavors going around in my mind. Peppermint for Rick, pumpkin for Jay...the ideas just keep coming.
Also made a couple cards last week.

Have a great Saturday.

Card of the Month
I'm not finding the time to make cards very often. It makes me sad…but it's just the way things are for now.
I did manage to get one made to celebrate Caity's Birthday. I did use the CAS(E) this Sketch #95 for my inspiration:
But…I'm so late in posting about it that I can't share on their site. Oh well, it still turned out rather cute.

Not my best photo, but I was rushed.
Off to finally put up my fall mantel. (It's about time.)

Card of the Week
Time for some carding for the week. Also trying to get back in the habit of making two cards at the same time. I need to build up my inventory!
Here is my inspiration from CAS(E) this Sketch:
And here are the two cards I made:
The top card will be used immediately and the bottom has been tucked away for future use.
Happy carding to my fellow carders.

Not sure that I'm loving my interpretation, but it's where my supplies took me.

Card of the Week and World Card Day
I just finished making a card today and I also found out that today is World Card Making Day. Who would have thought! Also very convenient that I actually made a card today since this only the second card I've made since being moved out to the farm.
Here is my inspiration from CAS(E) this Sketch:
And here is my version:
Glad I got this made and just in time to take part in World Card Day. Happy carding.

Card of the Week
I finally got my boxes and boxes of craft supplies unpacked and set up my craft area. This gave me the chance to make a quick card. I did use a sketch from CAS(E) this sketch as my inspiration, but now I can't find it cause I'm way behind on posting.
Anyway...here is the card:
It's just a simple birthday card for a dear friend. Hope to make some more soon.
Happy carding.

Last Cards for Awhile
With the pending move and the fix up/paint up happening at my house, I had to pack up all my card making equipment. So, the following are my last cards for a month or so. It kind of makes me sad, cause whenever I feel lost and confused, I can make a card or two and all is right with the world.
Luke loves Dumbo, and this is my interpretation:
I've tried making "boy" type cards for Ryan and Aus previously and they typically don't get a second look, so I took a more direct approach this year.
Ryan wanted something "Sonic":
Austin wanted "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles":
And last but not least, I just went pink for Breslyn:
Hope to be back to carding soon.

Cards of the Week -April Week One
I fell off my weekly card-making challenge after only 8 weeks. For shame.
I did manage to get back in the swing of things this week.
I used this week's CAS(E) this sketch for inspiration. Here is their sketch:
Here are my two interpretations (don't look Deb):
And one for a little party we are going to tonight:
Happy card making everyone.

Cards of the Week - Week 7
I got a couple more cards made last week. I used the following sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch as my inspiration:
And here are my versions:
Again, my goal is to make two cards per week, using a variation on the same theme. I'm also not buying any new supplies, so I have to use up all my existing stock.
Card 1:
Card 2:
I created the background for both cards by stamping directly onto the card front so that it appears to be paper. I used crumb cake paper and ink from Stampin' Up. I love monochromatic looks.
Thanks for checking in. Have a great week.

Card of the Week - Week 6
Again last week, I had to delay posting my card of the week due to needing to give it to my mom first. I didn't want her to see her card before I gave it to her.
I used an inspiration from Muse. This is a newer carding blog that I found through CAS(E) this Sketch. It is now way past that design inspiration that I can't even link up anymore, but the idea worked out well.
Here was their card to use as inspiration:
Here was my version:
I had one random square envelope, so I made a card to fit it. That fulfills my "use up existing inventory", but it also made it hard to made a 2nd version. So there was only one card last week. Will have to try harder this week.
