Card of the Week

What better way to spend a snowy afternoon, then to make a few cards. (Honey...if you are reading this, please stop.)

Again I used this week's CPS sketch for inspiration.  Thank you CPS.

This is BW's Valentine's card, so I have to hope he won't be stopping by for a visit or that he heeds my warning at the beginning of this post.

Now I'm off to hunt down a peanut brittle recipe.  It's one of his favorite treats and since I made his other favorite treat yesterday (oatmeal cookies) for his birthday, I need to make something else for Valentine's Day.

  2. So pretty! We had a neighborhood card and cookie decorating party last night. Our cards weren't as cute, but it was fun to make some. Love it!

  4. Lindalou: stop your search. Here's the recipe my company uses to make peanut brittle, which we think is the best available. Mix 3 cups sugar, 1 cup light corn syrup, and 1/2 cup water together. Heat to 234F, then add 3 cups peanuts, and stir continuously until the mixture reaches 295F. Cook for 1 minute, remove from heat and add 3T butter. Stir until butter is melted, then add 2t baking soda, 1t salt, and 1/8t cayenne pepper (you can leave this out, but it really preps the palate for the sugar). Stir well and turn out onto aluminum foil while spreading thin. Let it cool and enjoy.

  5. What a sweet card. I love it and I bet your honey will too! What a lucky guy.

There was a drop box in the grocery store here to have your valentines postmarked from Loveland Colorado. I wonder if my husband will even notice that his card says Loveland???
